In a recent experiment we have determined the internal quantum efficiency of shallow-implanted Nitrogen-vacancy (NV) defects in a bulk diamond crystal. The experiment involved measurements of the fluorescent decay rates of NV defects under controlled modification of the local density of optical states. The results are published with open access in Optics Express: http://dx.doi.org/10.1364/OE.24.027715
