Institute for Materials Science Dresden University of Technology
\n\n
Abstract:
\nChirality-induced spin selectivity (CISS) is a recently discovered effect, whose precise microscopic origin has not yet been fully elucidated. Various model approaches have been meanwhile formulated, suggesting a close connection between spin selectivity and helical symmetry. In this talk, I will present some of our modeling activities related to the CISS effect, covering model Hamiltonian based approaches as well as spin-dependent density-functional theory and quantum transport calculations.
