Electrocatalysis

Set-ups for electrocatalysis using three electrode electrochemical cells allow us to analyze individual reactions in controlled environments. This is used for studies of  the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), oxygen evolution reaction (OER), hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR). New electrocatalysts can be studied in various forms (as bulk materials of various shapes, single crystals as well as nanoparticles/structures) and under various experimental conditions (stationary or rotating).  The rotating disc electrode set-up which is encased in a vented chamber to study reactions such as ORR. This encased electrochemcial cell set-up is also used for CO stripping/oxidation measurements aiding in the determination of the active electrochemical surface area.
