On February 24, Jens defended his PhD thesis entitled “Generation and application of squeezed states of light in quantum sensing” – a project that has been supported by the Dnaish National Research Foundation. Within this project, Jens developed novel squeezed light sources and used then for quantum sensing. In particular, he performed an experiment demonstrating optical sensing of a phase shift beyond what is possible with the celebrated ideal NOON state. This is major achievement so many congrats to Jens for this result. The thesis was examined by Jonatan Matthews from Bristol university, Boris Hage form Rostock university and Darko Zibar from the department of photonics at DTU. Many congrats to Jens!
