Accident dosimetry

The aim of this project is to develop techniques to enable the evaluation of doses to people in the event of a radiation accident or violent act. Investigations are carried out on potential use of building materials (bricks, mortar, ceramics), commonly used commercial household salts, and electronics in case of an accident. The techniques developed here also have potential application in forensic dosimetry, where the dose record is used to investigate the evidential trail leading up to an illegal act involving radioactive materials.
