Incomplete resetting of luminescence signals at deposition

This project aims to examine the various origins of distributions in dose recorded by single grains of quartz, with the expectation that this will improve our ability to deconvolve the contribution from incomplete bleaching (resetting) of the OSL signal from other sources of spread in dose. This in turn should allow us to date incompletely zeroed sediments (e.g. proglacial material, land slips, earthquakes, etc.).

This has special application towards dating very young terrestial sediments (within last 500 years), where other dating methods are beset with many challenges.
