The Graphene Flagship unites 150 of the primary European research groups and companies in a combined effort to push research in 2D materials towards practical applications - from the lab to the fab. 2D materials offer exciting possibilities for electronics in terms of performance, functionality, price and form factor. In the Graphene Flagship electronics workpackage, DTU works on development of emergent electronic components based on graphene and transition metal dichalcogenides. 

DTU wish to employ a post-doctoral researcher for 24 months to carry out research in device fabrication based on both exfoliated and CVD materials, to develop, study and optimise short channel transistors, optimise contact resistance, and investigate ways to encapsulate 2D materials using scalable materials and methods. You will work in a friendly team in a stimulating international environment, and can take advantage of the expertise in the centre of excellence, CNG, and our 1500 m2 state-of-the-art cleanroom facility, DTU Nanolab.


  • Candidates should have a PhD degree in physics or equivalent.
  • Expertise in 2D materials device fabrication (with electron beam lithography) and electrical characterisation.
  • Experience with graphene synthesis, transfer and integration is relevant
  • Solid theoretical background and knowledge of concepts and methods in the field/literature, especially within semiconductor physics, quantum mechanics,  electronics
  • Experience with application of 2D materials is a bonus
  • Other relevant characterisation techniques for graphene such as Raman spectroscopy, SEM, TEM and AFM

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union. The period of employment is 2 years and must start no later than 1 April 2020.
