Josh has on January 26 defended his PhD thesis entitled “Magnetic Sensing with Large Ensembles of Nitrogen-Vacancy Centers in Diamond” within the bioQ project which has been supported by the Novo Nordisk foundation. Josh worked on the development of highly efficient magnetometers based Nitrogen-Vacancy centers in Diamond and exploring in particular the effect of optimal control and mode-shaping of the excitation beam. The thesis was examined by Tim Schröder from the Humboldt University, Jan Meijer from the University of Leipzig and Tobias Gehring from DTU. Many congrats to Josh!
